Shifts

By 15. January 2019Copywriter, English, poem, poetry

Sometimes you stumble across a piece of information. That – all of a sudden – makes everything shift. Most of all your own perspective. Values you believed were a part of you for as long as you can remember. Beliefs. Priorities and actions.

Yet, in light of this small piece of information – maybe having been well known to a vast number of people for a long time – it all shifts. Whatever you had thought about a topic and felt to be true becomes irrelevant. Slides. Tumbles and crumbles. Falls apart in an earthquake of thoughts. Leaving your thinking raw, stripped bare, newborn.

And in the midst of all this turmoil, this wasteland creates space for new thoughts. Forming. Sprouting. Growing. Building up. Making room for some new and valuable aspect of and within yourself. For a long or a short while. Until it shifts. Again.
