What does high-quality GEO (content + support) actually cost?
In short: if you want your German website to grow sustainably for Google and AI search, you should invest at least €2,000 per month in ongoing optimisation for Search and Generative engines.
Here is how I arrive at that number:
- Writing comprehensively optimized SEO content, including keyword research, image optimization and two rounds of revisions, takes 5 to 10 hours, depending on the industry.
- This is supplemented by another 1-2 hours for prompt research and optimization for AI search engines ( Generative Engine Optimisation ).
- In addition, each piece of content requires an extra 30-60 minutes for questions, communication, and project management.
- Of course, content should be monitored: How is it performing on Google? How is it performing in AI search engines? SEO monitoring and live reporting take me about 1.5 hours per month; if you want AI monitoring and reporting as well, it takes another 2 hours or so. If your German website is larger, if there's a lot happening, or many errors have occurred, it can take 4 to 6 hours.
- Optional: Any further GEO/SEO translation takes an additional 3 to 8 hours. This is advisable if you have a multilingual website.

If we agree on a monthly budget of €2,000 (15.5 hours), there will be enough budget left to react to the insights from the reporting. That includes adjustments, updates, fixing technical or content issues, or supporting other activities such as newsletters or LinkedIn content — all of which help strengthen visibility on Google and in AI search over time.
That’s why I generally recommend planning at least €2,000 per month for ongoing SEO work.
SEO costs are therefore a predictable investment — one that pays off over the medium to long term.

What clients ask me about SEO pricing …
That depends on your SEO strategy. If you want eight new blog posts per month plus content maintenance, your budget will naturally be higher than for one blog post plus reporting.
I offer monthly SEO support starting at €850.
An SEO article or page usually costs between €500 and €1,200, depending on the scope and industry. This includes keyword research, SEO optimisation and two rounds of revisions.
Depending on the topic, I typically need five to ten hours to complete a high-quality piece of SEO content. The finished content is not just optimised for Google and AI search, but also easy to read and genuinely useful for your customers.
Yes. GEO optimisation is not a separate add-on for me, but part of holistic SEO work.
When I develop websites, content or strategies, I always consider both classic search engines and AI-based search systems. This includes structure, topic logic, content depth and signals that help AI systems understand and recommend your content. You therefore don’t pay extra for GEO.
Instead, you invest in a future-proof foundation that works for Google as well as AI search.
This is why I deliberately do not offer separate “GEO packages”.
In short: no.
SEO content cannot be priced fairly by word count. What really matters is the research, strategy and structure behind the content.Before writing, I analyse keywords, search intent and the role of the content within your website strategy. Afterwards, the content often requires fine-tuning to perform well.
That’s why I work with experience-based fixed prices. This gives you predictable costs — and gives me the flexibility to create content that actually contributes to your marketing goals.

SEO works best as a long-term process. Content needs time to rank, and both Google and AI search systems constantly evolve. A one-time measure rarely delivers sustainable results.
Some SEO providers sell website optimisation as a one-off project. Personally, I prefer working with clients over a longer period of time so we can steadily improve your visibility on Google and in AI search.
No, rankings cannot be bought.
What you can invest in is a strong SEO and content strategy, combined with high-quality content that earns visibility over time. If you want faster visibility, you can also use paid ads temporarily, while your organic rankings develop.
